Hawaii (day 3): Dole Plantation

On Thursday we stopped at the Dole Plantation on our way down to Honolulu to visit our friends Mary, Mel and little Cora. We did a little shopping at their huge gift shop, we ate lunch (which we don't recommend) and we fed the koi. Feeding the koi was one of the highlights of our trip. They go crazy! Before feeding them:

While feeding them - you'd think they're starving! But it was very funny, they were flopping all over the place, splashing us trying to get their one pebble of fish food. The koi were huge. A photo of Ty and the Koi pond:

Growing chocolate!
Cute baby pineapples!
The plants only grow one pineapple each.

We learned that not only is it illegal in Hawaii to pick pineapple, but if you are caught, you will be arrested and slapped with a $25,000 fine!
