Emmalee @ Tryon Creek State Park

I had to do some location scouting over the weekend so I brought my family along with me to check out a couple of local parks. One of which; Tryon Creek State Park, is 645 acres of nature and many miles of trails. Only our daughter can hike in style, wearing a dress.

No-Bake Cookies

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 1/2 cups rolled oats

1. Combine sugar, margarine, salt, milk and cocoa powder in a large saucepan; mix well.
2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring continually. Boil, stirring continually, for 1 minute.
3. Remove saucepan from heat. Add vanilla and peanut butter (chunky peanut butter is yummy); mix until smooth. Add rolled oats; mix well.
4. Drop cookie dough by spoonfuls (i've found that an ice cream scooper works well) onto a surface lined with waxed paper. Let stand until cool. I usually put them in the fridge to cool as we tend to be impatient. :-)
Enjoy!

Project 365: Spiders!

Our house is surrounded by gigantic spiders. I could hardly stand taking these, but I was pressured by my husband. When the spider moved, I screamed. It was an interesting experience, I really believed that as I pressed the shutter button, the spider would jump on my lens or my face. The movie Arachnophobia really did a number on me back in the 90's. I actually felt sick to my stomach after this little photo shoot. Now i've got to make that call and get our house sprayed...

Senior Sneak Peek: Rachael

Miss Rachael was looking for an urban venue and I think this session suited her personality well! She's way more than just a fun, nice girl. In my opinion, she's an earthy rebel with a gorgeous doll face. It was a fun time on the gorgeous east bank of the Willamette River in Portland - take a look...
Thanks, Rachael! You did great, enjoy!
Have a wonderful senior year.

Seaside in September: more fun on the strip

In preparation of Summer's end, we skipped work and spent Thursday in Seaside. It was the few days between Hood To Coast and Labor Day Wknd, so the area was quiet and free of crowds, yet GORGEOUS weather! It was SO wonderful. Emmalee was about half an inch tall enough to get to ride her OWN bumper car, it was a ton of fun!
Salt Water Taffy, of course!

LOVE the carousel!
Em flies her new kite from GreatPa and GreatMa.. all by herself!
